Note on the "14 Qira'at"
Beyond the 10 Mutawatir Qira'at, there are 4 extra non-canonical recitations (Shadh-dhal) — Ibn Muhaysin, Al-Yazidi, Al-Hasan al-Basri, and Al-A'mash. These are studied for linguistic analysis, but are not recited in formal prayer.
